The David Archuleta concert was last weekend. I had a lot of fun with my daughter as we screamed like teenagers and yelled "Marry me!!!" at the top of our voices to this cute performer.
The first half of the concert was music off his pop album and the second half was selections from his new Christmas CD. He's very talented and has a set of pipes on him that will carry him far.... very far.
Should I compare this concert to the David Cook concert earlier this year? I can't. That is comparing oranges with chocolate covered oranges. Both are delicious and yummy. One is just sweeter than the other. Archie is still sweet, humble and darling. I think he is a much better singer than Cook and his performing skills have improved since his days on Idol when Simon used to make fun of him when he'd try to dance. Archie put on a great show!!
The Cook show was edgier, of course, because it was a rock show. Without a doubt it was harder and louder than Archie's. It was fun... probably more fun than Archie's. That may have had something to do with the fact that we were on the 5th row and could almost smell the sweat of the band...
You can see we were much farther away this time! (At least we weren't sitting in the bleachers!)
Before the concert started.
Inigo thinks he wants to be a rock star, this is proof that he needs to continue with his piano lessons!
The Christmas part of the program was a lot more formal with a small orchestra section and fancier clothes. Also, some fun, pretty changes in the lighting.
Next up is the Brooke White concert in January. I guess we have to decide if we're going to go ahead and get tickets for that. If this keeps up, we'll eventually see all the finalists from the 2008 season of American Idol! (I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Michael Johns!)

I'm glad you enjoyed it with your daughter--always a fun thing to do.
Aw yes a woman of my own heart :) Amen to everything you just said. Love him, love Cook, glad we got to go to these concerts!!
For short people, the bleachers are great. I went to the Jim Brickman concert earlier this semester and couldn't ever see a thing...and I was in the 7th row. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
